A pair of stage trousers of cream wool, the flared trouser legs decorated with an inset panel of black satin and labelled IC Costume Co. Hollywood, California -- made for Elvis as part of a stage suit in circa 1972; accompanied by a corresponding colour snap-shot of Elvis on stage -- 3¼x3¼in. (8.3x8.3cm.); two corresponding
black and white machine-prints including one of Presley at a press conference in July 1972 (printed later) for a television special to be broadcast for the following January, the Word Wide Aloha From Hawaii Via Satelite!.., largest -- 9½x6¼in. (24.2x15.9cm.); and a letter concerning the provenance from Charlie Hodge, Presley's stage director which refers to a tear at the front of the trousers ...These white pants with black satin kick pleats were...part of a complete stage outfit which [Presley] wore on stage many times. On one night performing Elvis bent down on the stage to go to a karate stance, very low and ripped the crotch out of the pants...Elvis eventually had another pair of pants made because he was very fond of this stage suit [and] gave me [this] pair...
