Elvis Presley
A stage jacket of black wool trimmed with leather breast pockets decorated with gilt eyelets and matching leather and gilt cuffs, lined in black and white hounds-tooth patterned art silk, labelled IC Costume Co. Hollywood, California -- made for Elvis as part of a stage suit, circa 1972; accompanied by two corresponding colour xeroxes; and three letters concerning the provenance, one from Ciro Romano, former director of IC Costume Co. stating that this jacket ...was made from a sketch by Bill Belew, designed for Elvis, another from Ed Parker, Presley's karate teacher to whom the jacket was given and the third from Charlie Hodge, Presley's stage director stating that this jacket ...was one of Elvis' favourite outfits. He had pants that matched and often wore it on stage as well... apparently Elvis eventually gave the jacket to his karate teacher, Ed Parker, after he had stopped wearing it due to his dissatisfaction with some repair work that had been done on the cuffs (4)
