American, late 19th/early 20th century
Comprising four cotton and wool rectangular rugs, the first centering green, blue, cream, purple, pink and black stripes enclosed in a black, green and cream triple-bordered surround; the second worked in repeating cream, green, black and rust striped blocks with black sawtooth triangulated corners; the third centering a crimson stylized motif in purple lozenge-surround on a teal ground with pink, blue and olive stylized foliate border; the fourth stylized meandering brown, cream, pink and yellow oak leaf and branches centering a cream-colored field all on a brown, taupe and navy ground
