A cylindrical koro and pierced domed cover
with flowerhead finial, foliate handles and short waisted foot, painted and gilt with panels of processions of boys playing various musical instruments and carrying banners alternating with dense kiku heads and geometric designs -- 3¼in. (8.2cm.) high, signed Hozan zo; a pair of miniature cylindrical vases decorated with kiku heads issuing from bamboo fences -- 2¼in. (5.7cm.) high; an oviform jar with a multitude of butterflies in flight amongst scrolling flowers -- 3in. (7.5cm.) high, sealed Kinkozan; and a flattened kettle and sunken cover with panels of rakan and ladies on a dark blue ground reserved with demi-florets and geometric fan-shaped panels -- 5½in. (14cm.) wide, signed Dai Nihon-koku, Satsuma yaki, Hokuzan, (minor damages and repairs).
