Geneva, circa 1780, maker's mark crowned initials "AI", bearing prestige marks including crossed laurel imitating the charge of Jean-Jacques Prevost

Oval gold box, the hinged lid, sides and base engine-turned and enamelled in translucent red, the cover centered by an oval enamel miniature depicting a young couple in classical dress at an Altar of Love with a couple of doves, in a border of opalescent beads, the enamel panels framed by opaque white enamel stripes and sablé bands chased with a leaf and bead pattern enamelled in translucent green and red, the side pilasters similarly chased and enamelled -- 68 mm wide
