Rectangular box, the cover centred by a horizontal oval miniature enamelled on an engine-turned sunburst gold base, painted on an opalescent ground with two girls feeding a hen in a cage with her chicken, in a wooded garden, both lid and base framed by a feathered rectangular gold border on an opaque deep blue enamelled band, the base and side panels enamelled in white on gold with a diaper pattern enclosing engraved flowerheads, the side corners engraved with leaves framed by blue enamel stripes
