Asian Art sales in Paris, held in June as part of the Printemps Asiatique, were a triumph.

Hokusai's iconic Great Wave set a new record for the artist in France, while an imperial bronze statue, of a master of the Karmapa lineage, with prestigious British aristocratic provenance, sold for more than double its high estimate. This momentum carried through the entire sale, with nearly half of the lots achieving prices above their high estimate.
