Alongside the Printemps Asiatique, which celebrated its seventh edition in 2024, Christie’s France presented its Art d’Asie sale in Paris and its online Art of Asia sale. These sales included more than 400 important porcelain and art objects, such as cloisonné enamels, jade, and Buddhist sculptures. The Art d’Asie and Art of Asia online sales achieved a total of €6,848,599. The live sale totaled €6,227,298, doubling its low estimate.
The highlight of this season was a rare and important Nepalese gilt-copper figure of a seated buddha from the early Malla period, 13th century, which soared to €428,400. Among the other notable works in the sale were a rare yellow-ground blue and white 'pomegranate flower' dish, from the Ming dynasty, and a rare gilt-bronze weight depicting a seated bear from the Han dynasty, which respectively reached €315,000 and €302,400, tripling their low estimates. Additionally, a rare junyao tripod narcissus bowl from the Yuan-Ming Dynasty, 14th-15th century, sold for €277,200.
In the online sale, a small celadon-glazed porcelain water pot, China, 20th century, was sold for €30,240, more than 25 times its high estimate.
