Join us this September for an enriching evening filled with talks, workshops and performances as we celebrate the artistic legacy of Pablo Picasso, one of history’s greatest visionaries. 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of the death of Pablo Picasso, and the next edition of Christie’s Lates will form part of a global year-long programme of auctions and initiatives exploring his astonishing oeuvre of over 20,000 paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, theatre sets and costumes. Delve into the heart of his creative process, discovering the ingenious techniques that brought his creations to life and how his revolutionary approach continues to shape contemporary art and design. Entry is free and open to all.

Anna Laurini

Anna Laurini

An urban contemporary artist who burst onto the London scene with a dynamic process that permeates femininity, Anna earned a fine art diploma at Central Saint Martins and honed her skills in life drawing at the Art Student League in New York. Her works, characterised by bold lines and flowing curves, are brought to life through a rapid and expressive technique and have been exhibited in London, Tokyo, New York, Milan and Paris.

Blaze Cyan

A Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (R.E.) and an elected member of the Society of Wood Engravers, Blaze works within the media of drawing, etching, woodcut and wood engraving. Guided by a passion for landscapes, her body of work centres on the beauty and complexity of trees, immersing herself in nature to gather tactile information, a knowledge of textures and an understanding of the impact of light. She also teaches etching and wood engraving at Morley College, Putney School of Art and City & Guilds London Art School.

Charlie Calder Potts

An award-winning British artist based in the UK, Charlie’s work delves into history and heritage, exploring their cyclical and recurring nature. She is currently working on a solo exhibition, Offerings from Nara to be held in Japan next October 2024 — a venture made possible through the receipt of a prestigious Daiwa Grant.

Darren Lynde Mann

Inspired by High Renaissance painters Michelangelo, Botticelli and Caravaggio, whose works feature emerging faces from ambient monochrome backgrounds as islands of expression, Darren’s compositions explore memory, relationships to the past, and the process of healing. A cathartic release, the unfolding narratives in his works evince deeply personal emotions which, through these acts of negation, are simultaneously open to archetypal interpretations.

A ceramic artist based in Grantham, Lincolnshire, Dee has been working with clay for over 40 years. She works in small batches, producing one-off pieces inspired by Staffordshire figurines, folk art and historical portraiture. She teaches ceramics to adults at Leicester and Loughborough universities and sells her work at prestigious fairs throughout the UK.

Joanne Salley

Specialising in jewellery and silversmithing, Joanne studied Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Ulster. A former model and Miss Northern Ireland winner, Joanne is all too familiar with how appearances are judged and how assumptions are made on the basis of looks. Her work focuses on perception, manipulation and misinterpretation. She is a mural artist, illustrator and portrait painter.

Lily Lewis

Self-taught London-based multidisciplinary artist Lily’s body of work includes painting, poetry, embroidery and performance. Her work has been exhibited in group shows in London, Paris and Puebla, Mexico and in solo exhibitions in London, Japan and Switzerland. Her recent painting series, Vessel State, was prompted by Lily’s reaction to the controversial overturning of Roe v. Wade, ending the constitutional right to an abortion in the United States.

It stands out as a rare example of an organisation with national reach advocating for artists who have been excluded from the conventional art world. Founded in 2006 at Pallant House Gallery, Outside In’s impact has been noteworthy, earning recognition as the winner of the Charity Award for Arts and Heritage in 2013 and the Queens Award for Voluntary Services in 2022. In 2017, Outside In became an independent charity and gained National Portfolio Organisation status with the Arts Council England the following year. With hubs across the South of England, the Midlands and the North West, the charity plans to extend its reach to the South West region.

Pierre Bergian

Belgian artist Pierre Bergian studied art history and archaeology. Through his artistic work, Pierre channels his passion and fascination for architecture. His paintings of Hubert de Givenchy’s interiors were showcased at the Givenchy Collection sale at Christie’s in 2002. Exhibiting at Purdy Hicks and other prestigious galleries across the globe, his works have entered institutions like the British Museum, as well as numerous private collections worldwide.
