La gravure occupait une place centrale dans la pratique artistique de Roy Lichtenstein, lui permettant d’expérimenter de nouvelles textures, couleurs et techniques tout en conservant la précision de son style caractéristique. Il a produit plus de 350 gravures, utilisant la lithographie, la sérigraphie, la gravure sur bois et le gaufrage pour créer des œuvres aussi minutieusement réalisées que ses peintures.
