We are delighted to offer A Classic Collection of fine & rare wines from many of the finest wine estates in France and Germany. The wines were purchased on release from a highly respected UK fine wine merchant. Highlights include outstanding Bordeaux vintages from Châteaux Mouton Rothschild, Margaux, Haut Brion, Pichon Lalande, Cheval Blanc, Ausone, Petrus and Lafleur. From Burgundy, stunning wines from DRC, Clos de Tart, de Vogûé, Jacques Prieur and Domaine Leflaive feature. Also offered are sweet wines from Château d’Yquem, Domaine Huet and J.J. Prum.
The Historic Rarities Collection is a cellar of wines, unearthed by our specialists from a Continental collector. An amazingly rare 24 bottle case of 1970 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti was discovered, and the case still has the original delivery note from the Domaine attached. Bottles from this case, including Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, Romanée St. Vivant (with the historic Marey-Monge labels), Grands-Échézeaux, Échézeaux and Montrachet appear in lots. The case is with the lot of Romanée-Conti. Bottles of Domaine Rousseau, Chambertin 1976 and Chambertin-Clos de Bèze 1976 feature in magnificent condition. Future rarities include a magnum of 1959 Vieux Château Certan, Château d'Yquem 1947 and old vintages of Pousse d' Or, Faiveley and Drouhin. Unearthing a cellar with such treasures forgotten within, is a rare experience.
The Burgundy Connoisseur is a cellar of rare wines from Domaine Leroy, Domaine d’Auvenay, Roumier, Dujac, Bernstein, Le Moine and Fourrier. Treasured vintages of Grand Crus feature, including Roumier, Musigny 2005, Domaine d'Auvenay, Bonnes Mares 2009 and Domaine Leroy, Corton-Charlemagne 2011.
An English Country Cellar is a selection of Bordeaux and Rhône from the temperature and humidity controlled, underground cellar of an established wine lover. The offering of Château Mouton-Rothschild in original wooden cases is superb; 1986, 1995, 1996, 1998 and 2005, in full 12 bottle cases. Châteaux Margaux, Haut-Brion, Montrose, Léoville Poyferré, Ducru-Beaucaillou and Lynch-Bages all feature from fantastic vintages. Chave’s Hermitage, Jaboulet’s Hermitage La Chapelle and Avril’s Clos des Papes head up an offering of Rhône.
A Mansion Cellar is a collection from a subterranean vault in London. Bordeaux is the client’s first love, with all the First Growths featuring, including Château Margaux 1989 and Château Mouton-Rothschild 1996. Château Cos d'Estournel 1989 is a particular highlight, which our specialist team tasted in the cellar and found to be rich and exquisite. Magnums of Châteaux Ducru Beaucaillou and Léoville Poyferré will thrill Bordeaux lovers. Vintages of Petrus and Château Cheval-Blanc complete Bordeaux, alongside a selection of Bordeaux Blanc. Magnums of Leflaive, bottles of Sauzet and Deutz Blanc de Blancs also feature.
Fine Burgundy is a feature of the sale with a collection of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Assortments, 1998, 1999 and 2000, offered alongside bottles of Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg and Romanée St. Vivant 2015. Rousseau Chambertin 1991, 1998 and 2001, Clos-de-Bèze 1995 and Clos St Jacques 2001 are offered from a family private collection.
We are delighted to partner with the Decanter World Wine Awards for an offering of medal-winning wines. These lots include wines from Champagne, Burgundy, the Loire, Italy, Rioja, the United States, Australia and New Zealand. Provence Rosé wines feature for the second time.
