Christie's fall sale features an exquisite group of works by Amedeo Modigliani, Fernand Léger, Vincent van Gogh, Gustave Caillebotte, and other renowned masters.

The centerpiece, Nu couché (sur le côté gauche) by Amedeo Modigliani, one of the greatest 20th century painters of the female nude, is one of the finest examples from a group of fewer than 30 nudes painted between 1916 and 1920.

Another highlight is the Cubist masterpiece La femme en rouge et vert by Fernand Léger. Discovered to have been looted during World War II, the painting was recently restituted from the Centre Georges Pompidou, where it had been entrusted to the heirs of Léonce and Paul Rosenberg.

Also featured is Gustave Caillebotte's Chemin montant, among one of the undisputed masterpieces of the artist's career that had disappeared from the public eye for more than a century.

This sale includes van Gogh's L'allée des Alyscamps, a magnificent depiction of an ancient Roman cemetery in Arles; Le pont de Langlois à Arles, a rare watercolor influenced by Japanese prints; and Nature morte, branche d'amandier, an exquisite still-life.
