A Bronze Triad of Manjushri
Western Tibet, circa 12th Century
Standing in tribhanga on a small lotus base over a stepped plinth, extending his right arm in varada mudra, his left in vitarka mudra holding the stem of a lotus flower with a book rising up to his shoulder, with serene gaze, downcast eyes, gentle smile, his hair arranged in a conical chignon, wearing a crown ornamented with lotuses, diaphanous dhoti, necklace, upavita falling down the left side of his torso, the two attendants seated in lalitasana, their hands held up in vitarka mudra
