A CARVED AMBER SNUFF BOTTLE

The body is carved in high relief with two birds perched in a prunus tree growing from rocks on one side, and a bear watching an eagle perched in the branches of a pine tree on the reverse. The combination of eagle (ying) and bear (xiong) provides the rebus for yingxiong, meaning 'champion' or 'hero'.
