A CARVED RED LACQUER LOBED BALUSTER VASE
19TH CENTURY
The vase is of quadrilobed oval section and raised on a tall spreading foot. The lobes of the tapering body are carved with panels of immortals accompanied by their attendants in mountainous landscapes, all between borders of ruyi scroll and floral lappets. The waisted neck is decorated with further landscape panels, all reserved on a diaper ground.
