The design for the first fan was published by A. Poggi Sept. 1st 1782, and said to be from a design of a Lady of Quality, possibly Viscountess Duncannon.
Ref : Schreiber 72. [S.,E.59.] and 73. Pagni e Bardi, via Maggio, Florence copied another fan by Bartolozzi in 1796. Schreiber 286.
The third fan may be refering to the situation in Eritrea and Abyssinia. The missing folds may originally have shown faschist emblems.
