A FIVE-COLOR-OVERLAY WHITE GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE
PROBABLY PALACE WORKSHOPS, BEIJING, 1760-1830
The transparent red, jade-green, yellow, sapphire-blue and pale-turquoise overlay is carved through to the translucent white ground with a garden scene. One side is decorated with two peonies growing from behind a jagged rock, with two butterflies above, the other side with a begonia plant with a butterfly to either side.
3 in. (7.5 cm.) high, glass stopper
