A German Left Cuisse And Poleyn
Mid-16th Century
Of bright steel, the cuisse comprising a large main plate and smaller top plate attached by sliding rivets, the poleyn articulated once above and twice below, shaped to the knee and with a heart-shaped side-wing, the main edges with recessed borders, on the top and bottom plates and side-wing accompanied by roped turns and narrow inner recessed borders incorporating central points, the inner edges engrailed and bordered by pairs of engraved lines (releathered throughout)
