QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
Each of characteristic cylindrical shape with one side bevelled, the first finely carved to depict a lone fisherman seated in a sampan, holding a fishing line under the shade of a tall pine tree growing on an embankment; the second with a scholar riding on the back of a donkey, followed by his assistant holding auspicious offerings; the third with a scholar riding on the back of a donkey through a landscape detailed with flowering prunus; the fourth, finely carved with a ram breathing auspicious ruyi-cloud vapours, accompanied by two rams in landscape; and the fifth with archaistic feathery C-scroll design
