Lot Essay

Although the blade is rusted and rubbed overall the characteristics are visible in the clean area under the habaki. The style of the signature is similar to that of Gorozaemon Norimitsu who worked between the 1420s and 1470s in Osafune village, and has left a sword dated 1477 made when he was 72 years old, and who it is believed was succeeded by further generations.
