Meiji Period (late 19th century)
Formed as a makemono [handscroll] and decorated in gold and silver hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, hirame and togidashi-e and inlaid in Shibayama style in mother-of-pearl, coral and stained ivory with a panel depicting birds and a formal flower display, bordered by cranes and a hilly landscape
