narrow oblong box with rounded ends, the cover, sides and base set with panels of peaked-pattern engine-turning within polished gold frames, with slightly raised chased vari-colour gold foliate outer borders

Lot Essay

Nicolas Marguerit was apprenticed in 1751 and became master on the 17 January 1763. In 1766, he is listed as residing in cour Lamoignon and is last mentioned in 1790.
