hexagonal gold box, boldly chased, the cover with a courting couple accompanied by a putto, the base with flowersprays and foliage, the sides with putti, fountains, vases and a view of a city, each on a sablé gold ground within rocaille scrolls and reeded gold borders, slightly raised scroll thumbpiece, the interior of the cover inset with a portrait miniature of a young lady in a red dress with lace bodice and sleeves
