CIRCA 1728, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK, GILDER'S 47. MARK
Painted with harbour scenes, one side with a night scene with a ship in silhouette and figures about a fire on a quay, the other side with a daytime scene, within elongated quatrefoil cartouches with gilt panels and red and purple scrolls, divided by indianische Blumen, on a circular foot (rim cut down and chipped, gilding retouched)
4¼ in. (10.8 cm.) diam.
