The shape of the vessel and decorative arrangement found here is very similar to that of a cup and cover attributed probably to the Yildiz porcelain manufacture in the late 19th century (Stephen Vernoit, Occidentalism, the Nasser D. Khalili Collection, London, 1997, no.124, pp.174-6). Although there is a great difference in actual technique, both have European-influenced rococo silver designs set against a light coloured ground.
