Arita Ware, Kakiemon Style, Edo Period (Circa 1700), Fuku (Happiness) Mark in Underglaze-Blue
Each decorated in cobalt blue under clear glaze with a medallion of pine, flowers and rock surrounded by a band of Chinese rocks, peonies, plum, bamboo and grasses, the underside painted in underglaze-blue with a line of foliage above three lines around the foot ring, another single line encircling the mark on the recessed base, scalloped rim glazed in iron-oxide, three spur marks on one dish, four spur marks on base of other, wheel-cut and painted Johanneum inventory mark N: 187 above squiggle on each base
