A PALE CELADON JADE ARCHAISTIC VASE, GU
16TH-17TH CENTURY
The hexagonal section vase is carved to the exterior with a central band of taotie masks between upright and pendant lappets, the edges of the vessel carved in high relief with openwork dragon flanges and further plain flanges. The stone is of a mottled pale celadon tone with creamy white, grey and russet flecks and inclusions.
