SIGNED YUSUF BIN KATIB KHAYR AL-DIN AL-MARASH, SAFAVID IRAN, DATED AH 947/1540-41 AD
Prayers, Arabic manuscript on paper, 262ff. plus 2 fly-leaves, each folio with 7ll. of elegant black naskh, with gold verse markers, headings in larger gold naskh with black outlines, between blue and gold rules, shamsa on the opening folio and the frontispiece with gold and polychrome illuminated headpiece, two colophons, the first giving the date of AH 997, one replacement page towards the beginning of the manuscript, small area of worm holing affecting the margins of about 12ff., areas of repair mainly restricted to the margins, some waterstaining, one replacement folio, upper cover a later replacement, in later brown morocco with flap, the reverse with stamped central medallion and spandrels
