QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)

A carved red lacquer hat stand of comparable height (29.5 cm.), but of less elaborate form, in the collection of the British Museum, is illustrated in Hai-Wai Yi-Chen, Chinese Art in Overseas Collections: Lacquerware, Taipei, 1987, p. 170 (Fig. 1).
