拍品專文

The motif of "Three Friends of Winter" is model of fortitude and uprightness in adverse condition, because the pine and bamboo remain green in the icy weather and plum is the first to bloom each year. They are also symbols of longevity as the pine and bamboo are evergreens, and pine and plum trees live for a long time.

The crane and turtle are symbols of longevity as well as they live to a ripe old age.
