The rectangular box with fitted lid decorated in gold togidashi with iris, peonies, wisteria and various flora on a roiro ground, the underside of the lid decorated in polychrome togidashi and aogai inlay with butterflies on a mura-nashiji ground, the box fitted with a slate inkstone with fundame edge; scalloped rims silver
