The royal cypher of William IV and the HO PEERS stamp on their library table indicates it was part of the furnishings supplied in the early 19th century for the House of Lords in the old Palace of Westminster. Much of the old palace was destroyed by the famous fire of .... 1834 and subsequently replaced by Pugin & Barry's present Houses of Parliament. More about Peers House....
