A WUCAI 'DRAGON AND PHOENIX' BOWL
DAOGUANG SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
The deep sides are decorated on the exterior with a green and an iron-red dragon separated by phoenixes as they stride amidst flower scroll in pursuit of a flaming pearl. Above is a narrow band of the bajixiang joined to ruyi head motifs. Another iron-red dragon is shown leaping amidst green flames in pursuit of a flaming pearl in the center of the interior.
6 1/8 in. (15.5 cm.) diam.
