These four deities can be connected with healing: Amen-Re as a healer is extolled in Hymn 70 of the Leiden Hymn Cycle; in the Old Kingdom the priests of Horus imi-schenut were physicians, and later Horus is known as a healing and protecting god; Thoth is closely associated with Horus and is credited with healing the latter's eye; Senbet's name can be translated as "Healthy one" or "She who makes healthy."
