AN ENGLISH OFFICER'S SWORD
Circa 1790
With straight double-fullered single-edged blade double-edged towards the point, each fuller stamped 'Andra' (sic) one face and 'Ferara' on the other, the bright steel half-basket hilt with guard comprising stirrup hilt with three curved bars on the outside, elongated inner side-ring, and short lobe-shaped quillon, octagonal dome-shaped pommel with button, and fluted ivory grip set with a later oval silver plate engraved with a fouled anchor and the initials 'J P J', in original steel-mounted leather scabbard, the locket with frog-stud and suspension-ring
