With rebrowned barrels (some surface pitting) with top rib only and silver fore-sight, engraved with foliage and a band of beadwork on each breech, and signed 'J. Scott Canongate Edin.r' on the rib within an engraved rectangular panel, foliate engraved grooved tang, flat bevelled locks retained by two screws and each signed within a scroll now obscured by a sliding safety-catch (presumably fitted as a working adaption) and with stepped sharply incurved tail (right top jaw and screw expertly replaced), figured walnut half-stock (minor bruises, a few worm holes in the butt), chequered grip with a circle in the centre of each diamond, brass mounts engraved with flowers and foliage including trigger-guard with second pattern acorn finial, and large rounded fore-end cap/ramrod-entry, and horn-tipped ramrod with worm
