The domed cover well carved with a peach-shaped panel depicting groups of immortals in conversation before pavilions in a tree-lined mountainous landscape, all within a wan diaper border and a wide band of bats among leafy fruit-laden peach branches around the sides of the box and cover, the interiors in gold lacquer, the black lacquered base with a four-character inscription jingqi baohe, 'gold lacquer box'
