Sold with a letter from Tristan de Vere Cole dated 1987.

Tristan de Vere Cole was the son of Mavis Wheeler and Augustus John. The present work was executed in 1937 when Tristan de Vere Cole was living with his father at Fordingbridge. Tristan de Vere Cole became a well known television director.
