All carved from semi-translucent stone and all pierced at both ends, the two largest carved on both sides with grooves to depict a humanoid head shown in profile at both ends, the bodies continuing in a tapering diagonal filled with scales on the yellowish jade example and scrolls on the greyish-green example; the other three smaller huang similarly carved with slightly less detailed humanoid heads and scroll-filled abstract diagonal bodies, although the whitish jade example is carved only on one side
