16° (123 x 76mm). Italic type. Printer's device on title, ornamental headpieces and initials. (Title reinforced on verso, light browning.) Contemporary French tan gold-tooled calf, sides with an interlace design with fleurons at corners and central coat-of-arms[chevron accompanied by 3 boar's head] and lettered 'NOVEL.CONSTITU.' (upper cover) 'RE SANA FRUI SCIO' (lower cover). single fleur-de-lis in spine compartments, gilt edges (repairs at spine and corners, front cover slightly rubbed), 20th-century brown morocco box. Provenance: P. Cavolus of Paris (contemporary ex libris inscription on title); 'LAD' (initials on title).
