This illustration comes from a large dispersed Rasikapriya of the mid-17th century. A large group of 37 paintings from the series are published in Konrad Seitz, Orchha, Datia, Panna, Malwa Miniaturen von den rajputischen Höfen Bundelkhands 1580-1850, Hanstein Verlag, Köln, 2015, pp.132-211, nos. 5.1-5.37. Although the series is usually attributed to Malwa, Seitz attributes it to Orchha in Bundelkhand where it is thought Keshav Das composed the Rasikapriya in 1591.
