Lot Essay
This fragment is related to the two fragments offered in this collection as lot 95 and 96. Here, the Mughal influence is not as pronounced as it is in the other two fragments, perhaps indicating a slightly later date. A carpet with a similar angular border to this fragment is illustrated by Hans Bidder (see, Bidder, Hans: Carpets from Eastern Turkestan, Tbingen, 1964, fig. 29).
