The first with curved fullered blade double-edged towards the point and gold-damascened at the forte with foliage involving the Arabic inscription 'made by Sharaf al-Din of Gujarat' on one side, iron hilt of characteristic form with knuckle-guard, and small side-guard pierced with two birds, decorated overall with gold-damascened whirls and foliage; the second, without guard, profusely silver-damascened with foliage involving gilt flowerheads
