A 38-BORE AUSTRIAN SINGLE-TRIGGER D.B. PERCUSSION PISTOL

With sighted rifled etched twist barrels signed in gothic letters and numbered '1' in gold on the rib, and inlaid with a band of gold key pattern at the rear, patent breeches engraved with the infant Bacchus at the centre and each with pierced stellate platinum plug, engraved tang numbered '1' in gold and incorporating the adjustable back-sight, signed shaped stepped locks engraved with scrolling foliage inhabited by masks and reclining figures, the hammers with demi-figures of female warriors, pivoting safety-stops (one incomplete), carved figured walnut half-stock (minor bruises) with fluted butt, foliate engraved iron mounts comprising trigger-guard with a 'Wagnerian' male figure, and pommel incorporating a butt-trap with stepped cover, white-metal barrel-bolt washers, and wooden ramrod with white-metal tip numbered '2' (escutcheon removed)
