A 38-BORE CAUCASIAN MIQUELET-LOCK PISTOL

DATED 1847

With earlier slender barrel retaining traces of silver-inlaid foliate decoration at the muzzle and breech, characteristic lock with circular maker's stamp, slender wooden full stock covered in black leather and with full silver mounts (minor damage) nielloed with arabesques and foliage against a lineated ground, held by pins and including three barrel bands, spherical ivory pommel with nielloed silver pommel-cap and iron suspension ring, back-strap nielleod with maker's name 'Yiru' in Arabic and dated 1261 A.H., button trigger, and no provision for a ramrod
