Crossbanded overall in kingwood and inlaid with ebonised and boxwood lines, the hinged ratchetted black leather-lined writing surface with a red pleated silk-lined cheval-screen to the back, the plain frieze with one simulated drawer flanked by two mahogany writing-slides, a fitted drawer and later pleated red silk-lined sliding-well, on square tapering legs with brass caps and castors, minor restorations
