AN OTTOMAN MOTHER-OF-PEARL AND TORTOISESHELL VENEERED FALL-FRONT CABINET
TURKEY, EARLY 18TH CENTURY

Of rectangular form, the front opening to reveal a series of drawers, the top with a central cusped medallion and spandrels within a chequered border, the front with a similar rosette panel flanked by two panels showing vases issuing floral sprays within a border of hexagons linked by wood stringing, the reverse similar with chequered border, the sides with similar rosette panels, the interior of the door with chequered veneer, bone and ebony stringing along the edges, the doors of the drawers with cartouches, some damage to veneer
