Small 8° (108 x 62mm). Printer's device (Vaccaro 482, with variant inscription) on title. (Tiny hole at top of first few leaves touching 2 letters.) 16th-century Venetian russet goatskin gilt, panelled sides diagonally striped, a pair of clasped hands at centre, single gilt spray in each spine compartment, edges gilt and gauffered. Provenance: Meierlein (17th-century inscription); Librarie Thomas (1936; De Marinis 2310).
The present Venetian binding, with its emblematic central ornament of clasped hands, is described in De Marinis 2310. Brunet IV, 551: "édition jolie, soignée et devenue rare."
