With thirty gelatin silver prints including two panoramic format, 3 x 10½ in., other sizes approx. 4 x 5¾ in. to 7 x 11 in., mounted on paper and then on card one or two-per-page within platemark, printed titles on mounts with descriptive text on facing pages, title page with photographers' credit, inscribed in ink by the Maharaja of Mysore Colonel F.A. Maxwell...With compliments from Krishnaraja Wadiyar. The Palace Mysore 14th October 1914 inside front cover, brown cloth, titled, dated and with photographers' credit in gilt on front cover, g.e., oblong 4to.

These photographs chronicle the Koomkie rounding-up and taming a herd of wild elephants in the Kakandota Forests of Mysore. Images include the herd of elephants crossing the Kabani River; several studies of the elephants impounded in the stockade; tying-up operations; Lord Hardinge ascending the ladder to view the elephants from the raised gallery; the elephants being watered in the river and being led to the Kraal where they will 'undergo their period of domestication which may last from a few weeks to several months according to the temper of the beast'; 'the big Tusker' trying to escape; and a group portrait showing H.H. The Maharaja of Mysore with Lord and Lady Hardinge, The Yuvaraja and the Maharaja Scindia of Gwalior.
