The first with fifty albumen prints, 4 1/8 x 6 in. or the reverse, printed titles and numbers on paper labels on mounts, descriptive text, introduction, printed contents, title page and dedication page To Sir George Couper, Bart, C.B. Chief Commissioner of Oudh, the majority with tissue guards, stamped blue cloth, the back cover enclosing the folding plan, titled in gilt on front cover, small 4to.; the second with 344 albumen prints, carte-de-visite-size, one 5½ x 4 in., titled in Arabic in the negatives, mounted four-per-page, ruled borders and printed titles in gilt on mounts, descriptive text, contents, title and dedication pages, brown cloth (spine lacking), titled and with decorative border in gilt on front cover, gilt-metal clasps, small 4to. Lot Essay

An illustrated guide to Lucknow including a plan of the city by Darogha Ubbas Alli, Assistant Municipal Engineer. The second book is a portrait survey including one (the larger) portrait of The Hon. Sir George E. W. Couper, Bart.....Lieutenant-Governor of the North-Western Provinces and Chief Commissioner of Oudh to whom the book is dedicated.
